| I have often seen the phantom flasher playing with his large candle, but the last time I saw him he was gripping his wick with one hand and running like hell across the cricket pitch closely followed by the local constable with old Billy the park keeper a close third, they soon disappeared into Bucks wood when it all went quiet. |

WOW! I didn't expect that JPW, but I stand repremanded and can only put it down to my medication I must have been overdoing it.
If you take my crutches away how will I get to the Hallowed ground at Saltergate to see my favourite team play? Thinking again, I will probably need more medication after the match. |

If they were playing in our back garden ide close the curtains. And there making a new ground. At least weel be able to go and see the old one geting bull dozed as a change from sniffing out flashers in summersol. I bet therel be a few rats dive out from there.Theres always summet to look forward to. |

The View from Upper Brampton
Dear Ed
Please excuse my interjection; the purpose of which is to respond to the allegations made by ‘F Word’ regarding the existence of certain forum members.
‘F Word’: – Welcome aboard the Brampton Bugle. Please spare a few moments to read the Brampton Bugle’s Old Forum pages. (Aka the Brampton Wall). There, or is it here, you will find contributions from some of the people you claim to be figments of the editor’s imagination. You will also note that the same people were highly critical of the editor’s decision to replace the very popular Brampton Wall with the present reader’s forum. As the editor was highly unlikely to criticise his own controversial actions it leads me to conclude that it is improbable that he is impersonating all or any of the people you allege in your maiden contribution.
I was a regular contributor during the Brampton Wall era and I can assure you that whilst I may have been the object of the editor’s fantasies, (he was advised to wear boxing gloves in bed at the time), I am not, as far as I am aware, a ‘figment of his vivid imagination’.
Further you may gather that the editor’s circulation to particular members is perfectly adequate and therefore requires no self induced ‘boost’ such as you claim.
JPW has philosophised on his own existence on more than one occasion, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t exist. It’s just that he’s not sure if he does or not.
There must be human rights issues to consider here; perhaps we will get a ruling from the European Courts of Justice inBrussels one day.
In the meantime I look forward; as I’m sure do others, to your further contribution.
Yours etc
Caryl |

It looks like JPW has ridden off into the sunset in his new Teutonic tank, he seemed a bit down the other day because he hit the wheelie bins with the rear end of his tank. I think he has gone down the wormhole to who knows where, probably gone to get in some practice . Will he be back?

I promised JPW not to submit to the Bugle on account of belligerent solidarity, but being I have the ear of the great man( and many other parts- some in glass jars) I cannot let Terrygold get away with that last snide and inappropriate posting on the Great Wall of Brampton.
Who was it that said- ‘Confidential conversation becomes a dangerous weapon in the hands of a third party, and self aggrandisement though association demeans all’. Oh it was me.
Remember what Clement Atlas said at the start of World War Three- ‘Loose lips sink ships’. If that isn’t a metaphor for thought then nothing is.
And another thing, I have in my possession a miniature voice recorder. Not a very big one mind you, but quite capable of holding 17,000 hit singles of Kathy Kirby, to give an analogy relative to a captive audience. I’ve not listened too much of it, for obvious reasons, but now and then, sandwiched between passages of mind boggling debate, are snippets of conversation that if fell into the wrong hands ( and even ears for greater effect) could also cause great distress
That is all I can say at the moment- Nurse Bormann is due soon with my geniality tablets, so I must sign off---- Off |

Just because JPW isn’t here anymore, doesn’t stop us figments from casting and eye over the only thing we have left to talk to nowadays; even though walls have ears. It’s comforting to know that 12 people, all at once, and at a time, are engaged in forum looking at. What does this mean (a rhetorical question, for all with the acumen* of a captive clever Alsatian). Is there nothing on the tele, or are you anticipating a swift return of the ‘Exaggerist’. If you get 12 people at one go without him, then good riddance. Who understands his ramblings anyway? (Another rhetorical suggestion) Not I.
*No it’s not that. |

As I have the ear of The Editor of this magnificent and illustrious organ, I've been lumbered with the job of finding out what has been going on, or more to the point, off, recently. Otherwise he's going to want his ear back, which would be dreadfully inconvenient. The great man himself, our esteemed Editor, seems to be more preoccupied with burying people and spawning alarming numbers of children lately, rather than contributing his elequent wit and cunning linguistic skills for the amusement and enlightenment of our discerning readers. He ought to have more sense at his age, but hasn't.
Anyway, what's all this about plagiarism, and why is stuff disappearing? |

Now I’m not that clever, never was, never will be. My teacher said I was about as smart as a smart Alsatian, but we won’t go into that. So bear with me, and all the other ‘not so on the ball’ readers of the Bugle and tell me one or two things. Firstly- How is it that stuff has been disappearing from this forum when I know for a fact that the editor writes all the stuff himself- eh?
Oh, and what’s all this about Plagiarism? Is it anything to with Eyam? |

Even my dog Bismarck knows the answer to that one. Plagiarism, to put it into words that certain Harry Potter readers would understand, is when somebody nicks your ideas and passes them off as their own. That’s unless you are at university, then to avoid complaints you copy off more than one; then it becomes research.
It was me, as well as S. Fry, Lulu, The Count Basie Orchestra, and William Inger that said- Originality is undetected plagiarism.
